Benefield Elementary School and GSMST collaborate to learn about STEM

Aug. 19, 2014

A Georgia elementary school shows the incredible outcomes of letting kids work with other kids.

Georgia’s STEM Day 2013 highlighted the intelligence of Benefield Elementary School and GSMST’s students as they worked together to teach each other some basic STEM skills. The outcome: everyone was impressed with how smart and intelligent the students were.

“I learned that sometimes we underestimate the intelligence of 4th graders. ...I thought I was going to have to be explaining a lot of [the science behind my project] to them,” Braxton from GSMST said. But he was pleasantly surprised when many of the elementary students were knowledgeable on the subjects that he was talking about.
