Siemens' Simatic IPC industrial PCs are built for harsh environments
Siemens Industry Automation launched a new generation of its industrial PC family Simatic IPC for harsh industrial environments. The new devices of the D generation support the power multi-core processor types Intel Xeon and Intel Core i3 to Core i7 of the fourth generation.
The D devices have 60 percent to 180 percent higher CPU power than the predecessor models of the C generation. The HD on-board graphics integrated into the CPU with dynamic frequency now achieves three times higher graphics performance. All new IPCs with high long-time availability and industrial functionality were designed for maintenance-free, 24-hour continuous operation and also meet high-temperature, vibration, shock and EMC requirements.
The compact Box-PC Simatic IPC627D, the versatile expandable box PC Simatic IPC827D and the panel PC Simatic IPC677D available with a 22-inch full HD widescreen display are suitable for fast instrumentation and control tasks and for operator control and monitoring directly at the machine.
Simatic IPC supports challenging and complex automation applications where instrumentation and control tasks and visualization solutions have to be implemented concurrently in one device. For high availability and data security, secure mass storage and RAID systems are available that enable automatic recovery without changing hard disks. DisplayPort and DVI graphics interfaces are integrated as standard.
