Swagelok's Sample Probe Module offers improved extraction of process samples in online analyzer systems
The Swagelok Sample Probe Module (SPM) is designed for improved extraction of process samples in online analyzer systems. The SPM consists of two elements: a sample probe valve (SPV) and either a welded (SPW) or retractable (SPR) probe. The SPV features an interlocked valve design for its single block-and-bleed configurations. The SPV double block-and-bleed version includes a second block valve for secure process isolation. The single block-and-bleed valve interlock system will not allow operators to close the primary block valve when in service, eliminating the possibility of crimping the probe. Both the welded and retractable probes are engineered for maximum nozzle volume. This design allows extraction of the sample from the center of the process pipe, eliminating extraction of sludge along the pipe walls. An available 45-degree angle cut of the probe is designed to reduce the amount of particulate extracted into the sample system.

Double block-and-bleed SPM with welded sample probe: The double block-and-bleed features a primary block valve, secondary block valve, and a bleed valve. It is available in a standard or alternate configuration (featuring a mechanical interlock between the primary block valve and the bleed valve). The welded sample probe is available in 1/2 in. or 3/4 in. sizes.
Single block-and-bleed SPM with retractable sample probe: The single block-and-bleed features a primary block valve, bleed valve, and probe spool lock. (An alternate configuration includes a mechanical lock between the primary block valve and the bleed valve.) The single block-and-bleed SPM includes safety features that limit valve actuation when the probe is in service. The retractable sample probe is available in 1/4 in. or 3/8 in. sizes. All probes are available with a variety of inlet and outlet flange styles, including ASME B16.5 flanges, DIN 2526 Form C flanges, and JIS B2220 flanges. Swagelok also offers an optional heater and probe packing gland lockout bracket for the SPM.
The Swagelok SPM meets the following regulatory directives: Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC, Atmospheres Explosive Directive (ATEX) 94/9/EC, Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS) 2002/95/EC, Hazardous location electrical approval (CSA/UL) and CRN registered in Canada (individual components of assembly).
