Electro Static's AEGIS iPRO Bearing Protection Ring channels harmful electrical currents away from bearings to ground
The AEGIS iPRO Bearing Protection Ring from Electro Static Technology is designed to extend the life of medium-voltage motors and improve the reliability of systems in which they are used by channeling harmful electrical currents away from bearings to ground.
The AEGIS iPRO is engineered to prevent damage that could otherwise lead to generator or motor failure, unplanned downtime, repairs and lost revenue. It is available in a range of sizes to accommodate generator/motor shafts up to 30 inches in diameter. To facilitate field retrofits, the iPRO split-ring comes in mating halves. Embedded in the AEGIS FiberLock channel along the inner circumference of the iPRO, six rows of conductive microfibers surround the motor shaft, providing discharge points for harmful shaft currents and creating the path of least resistance that diverts these currents away from bearings to ground.
