Victaulic's Style 177 QuickVic Flexible coupling features no loose parts and no requirement to disassemble before installation
Victaulic has announced the addition of the Style 177 QuickVic Flexible coupling to its installation-ready product line. This line of technology features no loose parts and no requirement to disassemble before installation.
The Style 177 QuickVic coupling for flexible piping systems is well suited for utility service and industrial process piping for power generation and manufacturing facilities.
The single-unit design allows crews to assemble an installation-ready coupling by simply inserting it onto the grooved end of a pipe, fitting, valve or any other accessory, and tightening the nuts with standard hand tools or an impact wrench. There is no flame, noxious fumes or loose parts that can be lost or dropped, reducing material handling and thereby reducing risk of injury.
Installation-ready couplings require fewer steps to install, resulting in consistently faster pipe joints, which allows contractors to optimize crew size and better manage labor risk.
The Style 177 installation-ready coupling features a proprietary “EHP” EPDM or “T” Nitrile gasket material that is geometrically optimized for performance under pressure, heat, assembly and stress relaxation. It is rated up to 1000psi/6900kPa, and is available in two-inch (50-millimeter), 2-½-inch (65-millimeter), three-inch (80-millimeter), four-inch (100-millimeter) and six-inch (150-millimeter) sizes. The coupling is designed for joining standard roll grooved and cut grooved steel pipe.
