Workforce shortage may overshadow manufacturers' positive outlook for future

Enterprise Minnesota President and CEO Bob Kill presented the findings of his organization's Tenth Annual State of Manufacturing survey at St. Cloud Technical & Community College Tuesday. 

The survey's findings? The future is bright for Minnesota manufacturers. 93 percent of survey respondents said they feel confident about the future of their companies.

This positive outlook isn't new — last year, 94 percent of manufacturers were confident about their company's future — but a major concern in the industry about workers is. The survey report said bigger firms are for the first time more concerned about attracting qualified workers.
