Oak Ridge National Laboratory to lay off 100 workers as part of workforce restructuring

Oak Ridge National Laboratory will lay off 100 workers as part of its involuntary separation program.

In 2017, ORNL implemented a workforce restructuring plan that included the elimination of up to 350 positions through voluntary and involuntary separations. Reductions have primarily been among staff who charge to indirect accounts, along with some research staff affected by fiscal 2017 funding changes.

ORNL says 302 staff members applied for the voluntary separation program and 204 were accepted.
