Explosion at Thomas Industrial Fabrication facility in VA injures three people

Three people have been released from the hospital after an explosion at a manufacturing facility in Patrick County, VA.

According to officials, the cause of the explosion is believed to be liquid oxygen that was inside a foam cooler. The cooler had rags inside that were used to freeze parts before they were used by the facility. Employees were using a grinder and welder right before they explosion occurred.

Building damages are estimated to be around $250,000.

The incident remains under investigation.
