In New York, new apprentice program for manufacturing jobs

To fill a shortage of trained manufacturing workers, the New York State Manufacturers Alliance and its local affiliated organization, the Council of Industry, have partnered to roll out a new apprentice program to train Hudson Valley residents.

This month, local manufacturers began hiring applicants and signing up existing employees in new training programs for computer numeric controlled machinists, electromechanical and electronics technicians, automatic equipment maintenance workers, quality assurance auditors, toolmakers and welders.
