Manufacturing plants across Illinois' Rock River Valley opened to middle and high school students this week to give the next generation of machine operators and engineers a sneak peek at their futures.
"It's really nice to see everything happening in real life. It's not just a shop in school," said Michael Capriola, a junior at Winnebago High School who spent the morning at Header Die & Tool. "It's cool to think this is what you could be doing in a few years."
