Five injured in molten metal explosion at Noranda Aluminum plant

Five people were injured in a molten metal explosion at Noranda Aluminum ( in New Madrid, MO on Tuesday. It happened around 12:30 p.m. at the cast house in Noranda's plant.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens says there have been no fatalities. Injuries were limited to non-critical abrasions, dust irritation, or smoke inhalation, according to Mark Christian, communications director at Noranda.
