Demand drives manufacturing growth in Houston

In the Houston area, manufacturing is a significant job creator. According to the Texas Workforce Commission, 7,600 manufacturing jobs were created between November 2013 to November 2014, in the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown area.

Led by manufacturing, Texas has been a top exporting state for 11 consecutive years. In 2012, Texas shipped over $250 billion in manufacturing exports.
