The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) commends President Obama’s commitment to the development of a 21st century electrical grid as outlined in A Policy Framework for the 21st Century Grid: Enabling Our Secure Energy Future, which was issued by the Executive Office of the President, National Science and Technology Council at the White House.

The event brought together key industry stakeholders and government officials to discuss the opportunities and challenges of modernizing America’s electrical infrastructure, and to advance the national dialogue on the grid’s importance to job creation, energy security and American competitiveness.

NEMA was named by Congress in the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 as a key partner in interoperability standards and protocols for deploying Smart Grid technologies.
