The Hydraulic Institute (HI), under the approval of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is seeking qualified individuals in North America to participate in the review process for the draft of updated standard ANSI/HI 9.6.2,– Rotodynamic Pumps for Assessment of Applied Nozzle Loads.

This standard includes recommendations for assessment of applied nozzle loads for the following pump types.

When specified by the user, pumps supplied shall conform to these requirements.

  • Horizontal end suction single stage (ANSI/ASME B73.1, B73.3, and B73.5M)
  • Vertical in-line single stage (ANSI/ASME B73.2)
  • Axial split case single and two stage
  • Vertical turbine short set pumps

Many other pump types are not included because of the different designs that are unique to each manufacturer.

Individuals and organizations in North America directly and materially affected by this standard are asked to contact HI. These parties include pump users and specifiers, producers, standards developers, government agencies, and general interest groups. HI is currently assembling a canvass list of all parties interested in reviewing the draft. This list will be submitted to ANSI in order to meet its open canvass requirements. To participate in the ANSI/HI canvass, contact Karen Anderson, Administrator, Technical Affairs, or call (973) 267-9700 x123.
