Apply for the ninth annual Safety Professional of the Year award

Applications are now being accepted for the 2010 Safety Professional of the Year (SPOTY) award. The SPOTY award, co-sponsored by KellerOnline and Occupational Health and Safety magazine, is one of the most sought-after prizes in the safety industry. This year’s award will mark the ninth annual presentation.

KellerOnline started awarding the SPOTY in 2002 to recognize professionals in the industry who have taken innovative approaches to increasing the level of safety awareness and promoting the creation of a safer workplace. Throughout its history, the award has been given to safety professionals at organizations of all sizes and within various industries. Each award winner has implemented highly successful programs to reduce various metrics, including accident rates, injuries, workers' compensation costs, and more.

Past recipients of the Safety Professional of the Year award include: Nick Dalis, Joseph J. Albanese, Inc.; Harrold Black, Trex Company; Dan Ryan; Veolia Water North America; Norbert Alsup, SKF Sealing Solutions; Eric Kechejian, Tilcon New York, Inc.; Michael Neason, Hanson Aggregates; Mike Kalbaugh, Avery Dennison Corporation; and Anita Orozco, Air Systems Components.

There will be a total of three prizes awarded. The first prize winner will be awarded over $10,000 in cash and prizes, including $2,500 cash, a plaque, certificate, free one-year subscriptions to KellerOnline for both the winner and their staff (10 seats maximum), and $1,200 in free online training. The second prize winner will be awarded $500, a plaque, certificate, and a free one-year subscription to KellerOnline. The third prize winner will be awarded $50, a plaque, certificate, and a free one-year subscription to KellerOnline.
