The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Tennessee District and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), in coordination with schools across Tennessee, will host a free 75-minute webinar on forming high-strength steels on Jan. 19, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. EST. The program will repeat on Jan. 21, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. EST.

MetalForming magazine columnist Peter Ulintz will be the speaker for this program. On the agenda: metallurgical properties of high-strength steels, applications for high-strength steels, and tooling and machining requirements.

Participants can log in from remote locations or can attend at one of several host locations and benefit from networking opportunities with other participants. The host locations also will have programs in conjunction with the webinar. One hour prior to the webinar, each local school will have a program that displays its school’s partnership with manufacturing. This may be related to material science, apprenticeships, tool and die, machining or other topics that will educate the attendees of the possibilities available in manufacturing.
