Wonderware, an offering and ecosystem brand from the Operations Management Division of Invensys, received the "Global Honors Partner" award from Intermec, a provider of mobile data capture and computing solutions including RFID readers.

As part of the partner award, Wonderware was named "Technology Innovator of the Year" for SRM-3 technology built into the Wonderware IntelaTrac mobile solution. The award recognizes Wonderware as an Intermec partner that demonstrates the innovative use of Intermec technology to deliver productive supply chain solutions. The Wonderware SRM-3 technology is integrated with Intermec's CK61 Windows mobile handheld computer which offers an RFID data capture solution for harsh environments. The handheld vertical reader is designed for rugged mobile computing and data collection systems, bar code printers, label media and RFID tags.

Wonderware developers co-designed the SRM-3 technology with Intermec to offer an integrated RFID solution for customers that uses low frequency RFID 134.2 kHz technology to manage equipment in the field. There are more than 200,000 RFID tags being used at Wonderware IntelaTrac customer sites around the world. These applications span multiple vertical markets including oil and gas, chemicals, pulp and paper, and utilities.

Customer sites use RFID tags to identify and manage equipment assets and validate inspections to meet stringent environmental and process safety regulatory compliance. Wonderware IntelaTrac users also are able to take advantage of a patented Universal Data Tag format which enables users to not only read, but also to write data back to the RFID tag for future reference and monitoring needs.
