Ferraz Shawmut names Protection I.Q. test winners

Nov 11, 2008

Ferraz Shawmut announces its newest winners in the educational Protection Intelligence Quotient (PIQ) program. Thomas Speer, the September winner, received a $300 gas card for taking the online test, which is available at Speer, a maintenance technician from Fayetteville, N.C., said the quiz offered useful information that prompted him to seek more research online.

The August winner was C. Bauer, an electrical engineer from Yankton, S.D. Winners have already been named for the six previous months.

“The PIQ program has provided such positive feedback that we intend to offer a new series of tests in 2009,” said Stephen Colvin, vice president of marketing at Ferraz Shawmut. “Participants have expressed a genuine desire to learn more about the hazards that can hurt people, equipment and investments.”

The program tests electrical professionals, engineers, plant managers and OEMs on their asset management knowledge. Ferraz Shawmut recognizes one participant each month through the end of the year and will also award one grand prize trip to Richard Petty Driving Experience in Daytona, Fla.

The program runs through Dec. 31, 2008.
