Funk for the MRO man

Jul 01, 2004

Working in the maintenance trenches can be nerve-racking some days, and these occasions call for a little levity. This is part of the reason why Joel Leonard, an instructor for MPact Learning Center in Greensboro, N.C., partnered with Harley & the Hot Spots to write the "Maintenance Crisis Song," which is now available in a funk version. There is a new rendition of the original song, which is accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation that illustrates the impact of a shrinking workforce on the maintenance profession, as well as the degradation of facilities that are being under-maintained. The topic is of great concern to the industry; however, Leonard’s treatment of it manages to be both amusing and enlightening.
