Would you let a robot cut your hair?

July 17, 2020

In a recent video, YouTuber Stuff Made Here demonstrates how to construct a robotic barber.

I’ve seen a lot of bad quarantine haircuts lately. On my daily walks, I’ve seen diagonal bangs, retro bowl cuts, patches of missing hair, and fades that are more fail than fly. Others, fearing the stigma of the home haircut, choose to let their hair grow wild and free. I’ve seen more gray streaks, split ends, tangled messes, and mullets in the past few months than I care to see for the rest of my life. These crimes against fashion must end, and the key to success might involve automation. What if you could simply select your desired haircut and have a fully programmable robot give you a mathematically perfect do? In a recent video, YouTuber Stuff Made Here demonstrates how to construct a robotic barber. It’s even able to make creepy small talk.
