Use advanced robotics to become the world’s best pool shark

Feb. 17, 2021

In a recent video, YouTuber Stuff Made Here demonstrates how to build and code a robotic pool stick.

Robots. Is there anything they can’t do? They can clean our homes without being asked. They can order and deliver groceries with the push of a button. They can teach and entertain our children with music and bright colors. Now robots can even help you become a master pool player. Sure, you’ll have to build your own cue, complete with a robotic tip that can seamlessly move horizontally and vertically. And you’ll need to engineer an air cylinder tip that utilizes an air compressor, a micro controller, and a series of valves to control the speed of the shot. And you’ll need to do a lot of math and write a lot of code to ensure that everything functions correctly. But it’ll be worth it if you can impress your friends and family (and maybe make a few extra dollars hustling at the local pool hall.)
