Our Energy Monitoring Book is Done! The Blog Will be Back in 2016

Dec. 23, 2015

We have taken time off from the Blog to write a How-to book on Energy Monitoring. The Blog will start again in January and include details of how to get the book

Watson: Did you ever explain to my fans where we have been since last spring, Holmes?

Holmes: I never did Watson. Don’t you remember that was one of the conditions when we entered the Witness Protection Program?

Watson: Very funny Holmes. Actually, we’ve been hard at work writing our book, “How to Unleash the Power of Cloud-Based Energy Monitoring in Your Facility”.

Holmes: After all of the case studies, articles, papers, blogs and presentations on Energy Monitoring that I have done over the years, it finally dawned on me that I had never seen a book explaining all of the advantages and exactly how to do it.

Watson: Now certainly seems like a good time with more people understanding the value of information and the tremendous interest in the IIoT, Real Time Monitoring and Fault Detection.

Holmes: Exactly what I thought. So I decided to take some time off from the Blog and have spent the last several months writing the book. It is written for the managers and the men and women who operate and maintain Energy Systems in complex facilities. It explains, step-by-step, how to select the points to monitor and the sensors, design and install the energy monitoring system, set up the software and reporting, and use it.

Watson: It explains in detail how to use the methods that you developed in 1979 and have been using for more than 35 years to reduce energy costs by 10%, 20% and in some cases, more than 50% in facilities ranging from libraries, office buildings, schools and hospitals to industrial plants owned by G.E., Honda, RCA and many others.

Holmes: Right. And I am planning to devote the rest of my career Watson, to teaching others how to use Information Technology to do what we have done.

Watson: You forgot the best part. The e-book version is free! How will people be able to get it?

Holmes: We will provide the details in our Blog during January. Plant Services is planning to do some short articles on the book after the first of the year and will include details on how to download the e-book also.

Have a Great Holiday from Holmes and Watson!
