The ATOS Triple Scan 16M is the latest addition to the ATOS portfolio of high precision blue light 3D scanners.

The ATOS Triple Scan 16M is the latest addition to the ATOS portfolio of high precision blue light 3D scanners. The ATOS Triple Scan 16M provides up to 16 million points per scan (PPS) and a single scan is capable of capturing point spacing down to 34 microns within a 170 x130 mm2 area and up to 166 microns within a 810 x 610 mm2 area. Each measurement takes a few seconds and the intelligent algorithms automatically aligns each scan into coordinate position. The Triple Scan technology of utilizing left, right and both cameras greatly improves data collection on shiny surfaces and complex geometry while requiring fewer scans. It comes with ATOS Professional software which includes – mesh editing, average mesh calculations, 2D/3D inspection, parametric inspection, Trend/SPC analysis, GD&T analysis, industry specific inspection functions (i.e. sheet metal inspection, airfoil inspection, etc.), and much more. The comprehensive reporting provides 3D color maps comparing scan to nominal data in addition to CMM type reporting. The ATOS Triple Scan 16M can be configured for manual/portable use, with a rotary stage or fully automated with robotics to further increase throughput and productivity.  One example where the ATOS Triple Scan 16M is widely used is for measuring and inspecting complex injection molded parts, complex castings, and turbine blades where fine-leading and trail edges are of high importance.
