Vortex Valves' controls feature variable positioning of the gate blade on the opening or closing strokes
Vortex Valves' controls feature variable positioning of the gate blade on the opening or closing strokes and can be ordered for all standard Vortex Orifice Gates, Clear Action Gates, Roller Gates and Gravity Vee Diverters. Vortex controls are available in three variable position, air-actuated options:
- Variable Position Open (VPO) / Closed (VPC). The Variable Position Open control is designed to allow the blade to go from the closed position, to a variable open position, then to either closed or full open. Controls can accommodate up to three separate blade positions, controlling multiple positions on either the closing or opening stroke of the gate or both. Positions are manually set and adjustable.
- Adjustable Variable Position Assembly (AVP). This assembly is engineered to allow the user to control the overall blade position utilizing their own PLC controller. The controller utilizes a three-position, spring-centered, four-way solenoid valve and a number of cylinder mounted magnetic reed switches. Each switch becomes an adjustable blade position stop point.
- Infinite Variable Position Assembly (IVP). The IVP controller is designed to allow infinite positioning of the blade on the opening or closing stroke. This is accomplished using an output transducer to feedback blade position along the entire stroke of the gate valve. Overall accuracy of the infinite variable position assembly is ±2% of the total stroke in remote mode or ±4% in manual mode.
