Rockwell's Allen-Bradley Centerline 2100 MCC with ArcShield provides personnel safety and arc flash protection
The Allen-Bradley Centerline 2100 motor control center (MCC) with ArcShield from Rockwell Automation helps reduce arc flash hazards while providing users with increased protection against internal electrical arcing faults. The Centerline 2100 MCC, the first to offer arc-resistant features in a low-voltage design (up to 600 volts), helps improve personnel safety with a variety of built-in protective features designed to reduce and minimize arc flash hazards.
The Centerline 2100 MCC with ArcShield meets Type 2 accessibility requirements (as defined by IEEE C37.20.7-2007 — “IEEE guide for testing metal-enclosed switchgear rated up to 38kV for internal arcing faults”), helping to shield personnel from the effects of an internal arcing fault on the front, rear and sides of the enclosure. Pairing with IntelliCenter technology helps users perform remote monitoring, configuration and troubleshooting of their MCC, all while outside the arc flash boundary, helping to further reduce exposure to arc flash hazards.
ArcShield is built on the structural design and inherent safety features of the Centerline 2100 MCC, including a recessed horizontal bus and labyrinth vertical bus support, which helps to prevent arcs from spreading between phases; true unit and wireway isolation; and special arc-containment door latches that help deliver an extra level of protection against internal electrical arcing faults that may occur when the doors are closed and latched.
The addition of arc-resistant baffles on the Centerline 2100 MCC with ArcShield allows users to choose the full range of MCC units, even units that require venting, such as variable frequency drives (VFDs), while maintaining Type 2 accessibility. The Centerline 2100 MCCs with ArcShield are now available on the quick delivery program, allowing customers to get their arc-resistant low voltage MCCs in as little as four weeks.
