The SKF® MARLIN I-Pro is the newest addition to the SKF family of hand-held mobile computers for Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) programs. This rugged and high-performance inspection tool equips plant personnel with the capability to collect, store, and communicate machine-condition data quickly and easily for improved equipment availability, reliability, and safety.

ODR programs utilize operators who are closest to critical assets and in position to react promptly to asset or process changes affecting machine health when they occur. The MARLIN I-Pro provides operators with an ideal inspection system tool to successfully initiate and implement ODR programs.

Operators can trend machine and process conditions, compare newly collected data with previous readings, and record detailed observations of troublesome machine conditions or questionable measurements. In the event of abnormal conditions, the MARLIN I-Pro will immediately instruct the operator to take appropriate corrective actions or request assistance from the Maintenance Department. This earlier detection and prompt corrective action can reduce major repairs, maintenance costs, unplanned downtime, and production losses.

Collected data can be uploaded to a host PC for further review, analysis, and follow-up action by the facility's reliability team.

The MARLIN I-Pro features a graphical-user interface to facilitate proficiency with minimal training. The touch screen and ergonomic keypad further promote easy operation. Onboard software (based on the Windows Mobile® 2003 operating system) offers push-button assistance to guide users for the quickest and most appropriate response to changes in machine condition.

A high-resolution, backlit display with 1/4 VGA enhances viewing even in the darkest locations. Drop tested, dust-tight, and water resistant (IP65 certified), the MARLIN I-Pro is designed to withstand hostile industrial environments.
