Appleton offers energy-efficient lighting for hazardous locations
Appleton has launched a hazardous location version of its Wallmaster wall pack luminaire favored by contractors for its' broad, non-glare distribution of light.
Appleton engineered its new Wallmaster I/2 to meet the special requirements of Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations, adding an enclosed and gasketed design that inhibits explosive vapors from entering. Class 1, Division 2 areas are found in petrochemical refineries, chemical-processing plants, fueling stations, utilities and other facilities where flammable vapors or gases could exist under abnormal conditions.
Because of its heavy-duty construction, this fixture is equally suitable for lighting non-hazardous environments subject to extreme weather or corrosive chemicals, such as marinas, building perimeters, outdoor storage and loading docks. Its die-cast copper-free aluminum housing is finished with corrosion-resistant bronze epoxy to assure a long, trouble-free service life.
Contractors will appreciate the Wallmaster I/2's ability to mount directly to virtually any flat surface as well as its timesaving maintenance features. Unlike competitive wall packs, for example, the Wallmaster I/2 has a unique stainless steel latch that secures the cover assembly while allowing the luminaire to be relamped without the use of tools.
The Wallmaster I/2 has an Alzak® finished aluminum reflector that provides efficient out and down light across a wide area, along with a prismatic refractor that delivers soft light with even distribution reducing annoying glare.
Wallmaster I/2 fixtures employ energy-efficient high-pressure sodium (150W, 100W, 70W) and PLT fluorescent lamps. Guards and vandal shields are available as accessories.
