Schneider Electric's North American Operating Division today introduced a new benchmark in power monitoring and control: the Square D® PowerLogic® CM4250 circuit monitor. Designed for energy-intensive businesses and power-sensitive processes, the CM4250 product provides the tools to help maximize power quality and control energy-related costs.

The CM4250's industry-leading metering accuracy (meeting both ANSI C12.20 and IEC 62053-22 Class 0.2 standards) is combined with advanced problem-solving features such as anti-aliasing filters that help eliminate false signals and guarantee the highest-quality readings. Plus, the meter offers a full range of power quality features such as waveform capture, waveshape analysis, disturbance recording, and disturbance direction detection, allowing facility managers to understand where transients, sags and swells occur in relation to the meter.

With an extensive on-board data-logging capacity (expandable up to 32 MB) combined with advanced alarm functions that include a set point learn mode and a choice of communication options, the CM4250 monitor can be used independently or as part of a PowerLogic power monitoring system.
The revenue-accurate CM4250 monitor provides the tools to help facility managers track costs, allocate energy expenses, and subbill by department, area or individual process. While measuring electricity and tracking power quality through a facility, the CM4250 can also monitor other utilities, including gas, compressed air, water and steam.

Through an Ethernet connection, the CM4250 circuit monitor can alert facility managers to alarm conditions by a choice of methods, including pager or e-mail. And because it hosts its own Web pages, facility personnel can check on the device any time, from anywhere using a standard Web browser.
Whether maximizing power quality at a data center or helping to control costs at a processing plant, the CM4250 monitor provides the tools to help facility managers better understand and control their energy usage and diagnose potential problems to minimize downtime.

The PowerLogic CM4250 circuit monitor is available now from Schneider Electric. For more information, visit www.powerlogic.com.
