Spirax Sarco steam trap strainer connectors feature upgraded valves
Spirax Sarco has introduced a new line of universal steam trap strainer connectors with an upgraded BDV3 blowdown valve. When used with standardized, universal-type steam traps, the swivel-type connectors constitute a complete, compact trap station with NPT, socket weld or 1/2", 3/4" and 1" flanged connections.
The new trap station, rated to 600 psig at 750°F, is compatible with Spirax Sarco universal thermodynamic, balanced pressure, inverted bucket, float & thermostatic and bimetallic steam traps. The universal design enables the trap and its components to be removed and replaced
without disturbing the piping. The blowdown valves are replaceable as a complete unit.
The new valve design discharges 90° away from the valve stem to reduce the likelihood of operator injury. The valve can be operated with a 1/2" wrench. The common 3/8" NPT valve body enables it to be installed on Y strainers, float traps, pressure-powered pumps and as a stand-alone drain valve. The universal connector comes with body, strainer screen, cap gasket, blowdown cap and plug or blowdown valve. The connector body casting is stainless steel or cast steel. The 300 and 400 Series stainless steel internal components (strainer screen, valve body, valve stem, ball head and retaining clip) are highly corroson-resistant. Right hand flow direction is standard; left hand flow is optional. Stations can be set up for horizontal or vertical piping configurations.
