Rockwell signaling light enhances plant safety
A new signaling light from Rockwell Automation promises to boost productivity and enhance plant safety. The Allen-Bradley 855D Control Tower Stack Light is designed for use in plants with tightly-clustered production cells. The company says the product is designed for use in applications where the operator is close to a machine – within five to 20 feet.
“Many larger signaling products are too powerful for the close range and can damage an operator's sight and hearing,” according to Rockwell's press release. “When operator intervention is still necessary in the manufacturing process, small signaling products are needed.”
The signal light is designed using low-power, long-lasting LED bulbs. According to Rockwell, LED bulbs are also better suited to the harsh conditions of a plant environment; they're better able than incandescent bulbs to withstand shock, vibration and heat.
The stack light is available in six colors: green, red, amber, blue, clear and yellow; and any combination of up to five light and sound modules. Three available bases can convert voltage from 24V AC/DC, 120V AC or 240V AC to the 24V DC needed to power the modules.
