The Vaisala HUMICAP® Moisture and Temperature Transmitter HMP228 provides fast and reliable on-line water detection in oil for monitoring lubrication systems in the most demanding applications.
 
The HMP228 transmitter continuously measures moisture in oil with the proven reliability, accuracy and long-term stability of the field-tested HUMICAP® sensor.  The microprocessor-based transmitters measure temperature and the full measurement range of water activity (aw) 0…1.0. The HMP228 detects the saturation point regardless of oil type, age, additives, etc. Separate tables for different oil types are not necessary, nor are estimates of oil temperature, age or conditions where the oil has been used. The HMP228 is easy-to-install and calibrate on-site against salt solutions. A NIST traceable certificate is also supplied.

The transmitter can be ordered with a ball valve set that enables insertion and removal of the moisture probe for calibration without emptying the oil system. An optional alarm relay is available for applications where adjustable on/off alarm control is necessary. Alarm relays include two SPOC (single pole change over) type relays with 8A/230V contacts and are easily adjusted with the display keypad or through RS232.
