DeltaV, the process systems business of Emerson Process Management, has released a software package designed to control gas or oil-fired boilers.  The complex steam production process can pose quite a few challenges to plant managers due to steam load changes, fuel variations and unexpected equipment malfunction.  The Boiler Control Package provides complete logic for managing combustion, feedwater and drum level, stack oxygen, and steam header pressure.  It provides pre-engineered controls for gas or oil-fired boilers.  Controls include:

• Steam header pressure
• Boilermaster for loading individual boilers
• 3-element drum level control
• Air and fuel metering with cross-limits
• Stack oxygen trim
• Options for burner management interface, simulation, etc.

The Boiler Control Package includes:

• A software license for each boiler.
• Information on design, operation, startup, maintenance, and tuning.
