Elevate and certify your planners, supervisors and maintenance coordinators to peak performance levels
PlantServices.com
ABB Certification offers plants the ability to ensure that key roles in maintenance and operations are being filled by individuals with the highest level of skills, job knowledge and role performance. From assessment through classroom training, field coaching and audits, ABB builds effectiveness that culminates with a certification of achievement recognized across industries.
Gaining the highest efficiency in planned maintenance revolves around a “Natural Team” consisting of planners, maintenance supervisors and production’s maintenance coordinators. Too often, positions in this team are not filled or are left to “find their own way” because of minimal training. Consistency across job
roles is marginal and “best practices” look more like accepted practices.
ABB’s Certification Training tilts the playing field in favor of site management and employees by defining, training, coaching and verifying the success of each role. Every position in the Natural Team receives focused training that is separate but directly linked to the critical needs of the overall Natural Team. The certification process converts costly “break-in” work into planned maintenance jobs, leading to increased routine work, where jobs can be executed right the first time — week in and week out.
Maintenance Planner Certification
ABB’s certification for maintenance planners covers all aspects of the job, from defining responsibilities to capturing completed work history. The certification process uses well-constructed classroom training, proven Single-Point Lessons (SPLs), one-on-one coaching and audits to identify areas of opportunity. Lastly, tests are administered to certify individuals as best-practice maintenance planners. Maintenance Supervisor Certification Supervisor training often consists of the issuance of a white hard hat and the occasional seminar. ABB First-Line Supervisor (FLS) training is an approach designed to take new or even
seasoned maintenance and operations supervisors to the level necessary to not only better manage their area resources (people, processes and assets) and also become vital members of the Natural Team. Supervisors from maintenance and operations learn best practices using SPLs followed by fieldsupported coaching. An assessment is then given to determine if the supervisor qualifies for ABB’s FLS Certification.
Maintenance Coordinator Certification
Maintenance coordinators are typically the voice of operations for coordinating work within the unit. ABB’s Maintenance Coordinator Certification clearly defines the role, responsibility and action of best practice coordinators. SPLs spell out the necessary actions for coordinators and explain how they need to interact with the Natural Team. Personal field coaching helps coordinators apply new skills, and prepares them for the final testing and audits of their roles and responsibilities.
