'Maintenance Evangelist' Joel Leonard goes to Washington
PlantServices.com
Maintenance Evangelist and Plant Services Contributing Editor Joel Leonard has an audience with key members of the Senate and House of Representatives during the Council on Competitiveness Report on the Compete 2.0 Skills Update, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30 in Washington, D.C.
Leonard is asking you to help fight the maintenance crisis by sharing your work experiences. He would like to hear about issues such as the difficulty of locating qualified maintenance pros, the status of chronic deferred maintenance backlogs, or the challenges of supporting sophisticated new equipment while trying to patch up old equipment to produce optimal productivity levels to compete in a global marketplace.
The Council on Competitiveness and Senators Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) will convene a briefing on Capitol Hill to address how the United States can achieve a competitive advantage in the global skills race. The briefing will be held in conjunction with the release of the Council’s latest report, "Thrive: The Skills Imperative," which calls for a national action agenda to bolster U.S. workforce skills and ensure a rising standard of living for all Americans.
