IFS event results in creation of standardization organization
PlantServices.com
IFS hosted a two-day forum in Oslo in mid-February at which almost 100 delegates from the Swedish and Norwegian energy and utilities industry met to share experiences and discuss future issues. Among other things, the delegates agreed to collaborate in setting up a Utilities Advisory Council (UAC) consisting of energy and utilities experts from around the world.
The UAC will constitute a platform from which IFS and its customers who generate, transmit, and distribute electric energy can share knowledge and experience. The collaboration is designed to help IFS continue to support the industry with innovative, agile business solutions.
Other new initiatives include Enkam, a project involving participants from Hafslund Energi, Statnett, and Energiselskapet Buskerud in Norway. Enkam's objective is to help those involved reach a higher level of standardization of the technical and functional solution while streamlining implementation and maintenance to achieve lower total cost of ownership. The intention is that Enkam will lead to new industry standards.
