Fluid analysis training from a winner

Polaris Laboratories (www.polarislabs.com) announces Practical Oil Analysis & Cooling Systems Maintenance training for maintenance and reliability professionals. The three-day program provides knowledge and management tools that are critical for developing a practical fluid analysis program that makes a positive impact on a company’s bottom line.

The training consists of two separate courses: Practical Oil Analysis and Cooling Systems Maintenance. Participants may attend one or both courses. Taught by experienced industry professionals, each course focuses on program goals; appropriate testing; selecting a quality laboratory; taking good, timely samples; interpreting results and managing your data with decisive maintenance action. Cooling Systems Maintenance stresses the importance of total system maintenance for longer engine life.

Instructor Raymond Thibault, a certified lubrication specialist and oil monitoring analyst, developed customer lubrication programs for more than 31 years with ExxonMobil. Thibault now provides both private and public training and consultation services to corporations across the country.
Elizabeth O’Neil-Nelson, coolant program manager for Polaris, has been a coolant testing and analysis consultant for more than 20 years. Her research and development experience has allowed her to provide cooling system maintenance training and field services to reliability professionals, equipment manufacturers and fleet owners around the world.

The seminars target personnel responsible for maintaining industrial equipment reliability, including equipment operators, maintenance managers, industrial engineers, operations managers, lubrication engineers, maintenance technicians and reliability engineers, at any level of experience.

Participants will receive a Fluid Analysis Reference Manual, a $100 credit toward testing services, a PC-based data management software program (COMPASS, a $499 value), a Spectrometric Metals Guide and a Coolant Testing and Analysis Guide.

Remaining 2006 sessions are in Indianapolis April 24-26 and in Houston Nov. 6-8. Private sessions may also be scheduled.

Polaris Laboratories won the Spirit Award at the Johnson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation’s 2005 awards banquet, held February 13 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis. Part of Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, the Johnson Center honors entrepreneurial companies for growth, innovation and a willingness to take calculated risks. It also named Polaris a finalist in the Growth category.

Polaris provides testing and analysis for used oils, fuels, coolants and water-based industrial fluids. Its customer base is diverse with heavy emphasis on the mining, construction, industrial, transportation and power generation industries.
