Dick Morley has been appointed Czar over Innovation Alley, which will debut at the ISA Expo 2006 and is designed to attract young minds to the event.
“We’re happy to have Dick Morley, one of the great thinkers in our industry, to be czar of this activity for the ISA,” says Ken Baker, 2006 ISA president. “This initiative will, in many ways, introduce automation professionals to the future of the industry – and we’re confident that will have a lasting positive impact on the field.”
As Alley Czar, Morley will recruit and select small companies that are innovating in areas that may have future use in automation applications. The Alley is to provide an opportunity for attendees to see the future, along with the commercial innovations of today’s automation hardware, software and service suppliers that are presented in the traditional exhibits.
“The ISA Expo 2006 Innovation Alley will be an exciting opportunity for folks to see innovations arising for the bright minds of emerging technologies,” explains Morley, inventor of the programmable logic controller (PLC). “ISA has been gracious to grant me czar status in identifying and selecting the companies that will participate in this part of the Expo and I look forward to establishing my ground rules over the next few months. I think it will be a great enhancement to the event, showcasing new and innovative ideas and products that are sure to change the way we look at our industry.”
ISA Expo 2006 will be held October 17 to 19, in Houston, Texas. For more information visit www.isa.org or call (919) 549-8411.
