The top five job seeker categories of interest are in 1) management, 2) construction, 3) manufacturing, 4) generalist/comprehensive, and, 5) insurance/risk management/loss control.

To assist occupational safety, health and environmental practitioners advance their careers and help employers find quality job candidates, ASSE launched Nexsteps last May. The interactive job service is available for free for those searching for a position. Employers posting their job openings are charged a nominal fee.

Using newer technology, and a more advanced database, Nexsteps allows more flexibility in job searching and posting. Using Nexsteps one can search resume postings by entering specific keywords; modify or delete a posting that was previously added; add a resume to be searched by employers; search jobs in basic or advanced criteria mode, and more. Jobs posted are from businesses, universities, and government agencies located throughout the U.S. Internships are also posted.
