Partnership targets downtime in metals and mining

Ivara Corp., an asset reliability solutions provider, and Outokumpu, a metals and technology company, are partnering to offer software and services to help customers in the metals and mining industry achieve and sustain a reliability-driven approach to maintenance.

To gain a competitive advantage, companies have recognized operational reliability as a strategic component in their plans for future success. Maintenance goals are now aligned with company goals to achieve higher returns on asset investments, to increase output and revenue, and to ensure safety and environmental integrity. The partnership between these companies is designed to deliver innovative solutions with fewer resources to maximize equipment reliability within the metals and mining industry.

Ivara EXP collects equipment condition data from controls, sensors, data historians, predictive maintenance technologies and visual inspections. EXP consolidates and analyzes all condition data, identifies potential failures and recommends corrective actions. EXP uses single or multiple data points to analyze the data, applying defined rules and calculations to get a true picture of the equipment health. The results are presented visually through flashing alarms and trending graphs. EXP identifies the right work at the right time, so customers can optimize asset performance and extend asset life.
