Planning and scheduling conference promises âdose of reality’
The Marshall Institute recently announced the lineup for its 2nd Annual MPS Users Conference, to be held November 15-16 at the Sheraton Raleigh Capital Center in Raleigh, N.C. Highlights of the conference include two small-group sessions and guest speakers from four large companies — Kraft, BMW, Energizer, American Italian Pasta Co. — explaining what really happens on a daily basis with planning and scheduling in their plants.
Alan Warmack, senior consultant, Marshall Institute, will give the keynote address the morning of Nov. 15. Also occurring opening day are company case study presentations by Kevin Sartell of Kraft General Foods and Tim Harakas of BMW; a “best practices” small group session; a speech by Glenn Smith, senior consultant, Marshall Institute; and a moderated panel discussion of all the day’s speakers.
The second day of the conference Tim Hale of the American Italian Pasta Co. and Joe Plagens of Energizer will give their company case study presentations. Before they speak, Hank Bardel, senior consultant, Marshall Institute, will discuss “Measuring the P&S improvements in each phase of the MP&S process.” In between the Hale and Plagens presentations will be a moderated discussion, among small groups, about “Quantifying improvements from P&S.”
Scheduled closing events include two presentations: “The BMW experience” and “Systematically moving from reactive to proactive maintenance mode using a step process & sustaining these gains,” the latter by Dave Richmond, senior consultant, Marshall Institute.
The fee for the two-day workshop is $795. For more information, call 800-637-0120 or visit www.marshallinstitute.com/.
