Service provider seeks to ease staffing crisis

Reliability Careers LLC, a newly formed company, has been established to help plant operators and service companies meet the growing technical workforce needs of the maintenance industry. Director of Operations John Ha says the company’s goal is to make sure that plant personnel have the necessary skills and expertise to successfully develop and implement reliability and maintenance programs.

Recently, the company agreed to serve as the exclusive provider of staffing services for Allied Services Group and Noria Corp. Allied Services Group, based in Lebanon, Ohio, delivers total-reliability engineering services. Noria is a Tulsa, Okla.-based lubrication and oil-analysis publisher and training and consulting provider.

John Schultz, chief operating officer of Allied Services Group, says the maintenance industry is in a near-crisis situation with a large population of baby boomers expected to leave the workforce within the next two to five years.  “With this mass exodus looming ahead, we will find ourselves with an inadequate supply of experienced professionals to replace them. “We’re confident that our partnership with Reliability Careers will be a key component in our ability to successfully identify, attract and retain new talent as well as continually train and develop our current workforce.”

Drew Troyer, vice president of Noria Corporation, agrees. “Everyone is facing the same challenge, and we wanted to partner with a service provider that has the expertise in staffing as well as knowledge of our industry.”
