FKI Logistex White Systems gains GSA contract approval

FKI Logistex White Systems, a designer and builder of high-throughput, mission-critical automated material storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) for manufacturers and distributors, has gained U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) contract approval, which allows White to sell its products to federal government agencies.

As a provider of the horizontal container carousels currently deployed in the war in Iraq by the U.S. Marines, White will now focus on continuing to build its business with the federal government. White's contract approval initially covers a select number of its products and services, including horizontal carousels, no-walk horizontal carousels and several models of its vertical carousel series.

The new agreement, which allows the government to purchase products without competitive bidding, also covers maintenance service contracts and repair agreements with White. White is planning to add additional products to the contract approval, including expansion of its vertical carousel offering and vertical lift modules (VLMs).

White's GSA approval status allows government purchasers to buy through White's dealer network, which includes Pacific Integrated Handling, Adams Material Handling, Curlin and Bastian Material Handling. White also becomes a vendor in the GSA Advantage! system, an online purchasing system for federal government employees, and may use the GSA logo in its marketing materials.

"White Systems' unique line of products and services can be used from the office to the battlefield," says John Costanzo, FKI Logistex White Systems director of sales administration and project management.
