Assessing remote access to plant floor networks
ARC Advisory Group is conducting a survey to assess remote access to plant floor networks. The purpose of the survey is to capture current practices for networks called "process control LANs" or "plant floor LANs.” These are networks connected to production equipment and process or factory automation systems and connect automation systems, production equipment, analytical equipment, human-machine interface devices, etc.
Process engineers, OEMs, and production management applications are the primary users of these networks, which generally provide only limited services to other end users. This survey captures current practices and identifies best practices for these networks.
Those who participate in the survey will be sent the results for free.
