Electric Hydrogen has received an $18.3 million transferable tax credit to help support electrolyzer manufacturing at its gigafactory in Devens, Massachusetts. The funding, made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act, comes from the Department of Energy, Department of Treasury, and the Internal Revenue Service under the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project 48C initiative. According to the company, the 187,000-square-foot facility will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.2GW with production of its 100MW green hydrogen electrolyzers. Allegedly, the company’s stacks will generate enough green hydrogen to eliminate up to 2.4 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year.

The DOE’s continued investment will allow Electric Hydrogen to increase its rate of production on a timeline that can address the growing customer demand for green hydrogen.”
